For example, Richard Serra’s work shown in the video below, “The Matter of Time” at the Guggenheim Bilbao Museum in 2011 is made from monumental pieces of bent steel. The viewer is meant to walk inside, around, and in between the pieces altering their perception of reality. The work pushes the boundaries of contemporary sculpture because it is not a singular object and does not have a central focal point.
